Emerging AI workloads are challenging the traditional technical requirements of the industry, with some parameters increasing by a factor of 10. The need for ever more power to support these workloads is increasing outpacing the growth of the renewable energy industry, and this threatens the sustainability of the industry. The higher energy density is impacting how we distribute power, how we manage the thermal load and is making operations more complex in general. At Siemens, we are working with industry thought leaders and partners to mitigate these challenges, and in this talk, we will highlight the major points of concern and opportunity.
