ARCH SEOUL’s Secure QR Technology Surpasses 100,000 Busan Metro Ticket Payments
ARCH SEOUL’s secure QR payment technology processed more than 100,000 mobile ticket purchases in just one month across five major Busan Metro stations, including Busan Station, Beomnaegol, Jeonpo, Gwangan, and Centum City.
The service allowed domestic and international visitors to purchase subway tickets directly via smartphone without installing a separate application or carrying a transportation card or cash. After completing payment through the QR-based mobile service, users could scan the issued QR voucher at existing ticket machines to receive a physical ticket.
The system was implemented by integrating with the existing ticketing infrastructure rather than installing new equipment, helping reduce the cost and complexity of digital payment adoption.
ARCH SEOUL’s dynamic secure QR technology periodically changes the QR code and applies server-side validation to reduce the risks of QR reuse, tampering, and phishing.
The successful operation demonstrated the scalability and reliability of ARCH SEOUL’s secure QR infrastructure in a high-traffic public transportation environment. The company plans to expand the technology to other areas requiring both payment and verification, including public parking facilities, performance venues, tourist attractions, and public-service payments.
