BigObject Wins First Place at 2026 EU-Japan Hackathon with Aralia-Powered Data Collaboration
BigObject has been awarded first place at the 2026 EU-Japan Hackathon on Interoperability of Digital Public Infrastructure, held during EU-Japan Digital Week in Tokyo. Competing against teams from Japan, Europe and India, BigObject presented an Aralia-powered model for trusted cross-domain data collaboration that allows data to remain with its original owners while still being securely accessed and utilized.
BigObject was awarded First Place at the 2026 EU-Japan Hackathon on Interoperability of Digital Public Infrastructure, held during EU-Japan Digital Week in Tokyo. Competing alongside teams from Japan, Europe and India, BigObject presented an Aralia-powered approach to one of today’s most important data challenges: enabling organizations to collaborate across data boundaries while maintaining security, governance and control.
At the core of the solution is Aralia, BigObject’s Agent-Ready Data Platform, designed to enable trusted cross-domain data collaboration while preserving data sovereignty.
Instead of requiring organizations to move or consolidate their data into a centralized repository, Aralia enables data to remain with its original owner while making it securely discoverable, accessible and usable under governed conditions. This approach allows insights to move across organizational boundaries without requiring the underlying data to move with them.
The solution demonstrates how interoperability, governance and data sovereignty can work together to support emerging Data Space ecosystems. By creating a trusted foundation for distributed data collaboration, organizations can connect data across departments, enterprises and even national boundaries while retaining ownership and control over their data assets.
These capabilities are becoming increasingly important as enterprises move from traditional analytics toward AI agents that not only access data, but also interpret information, make decisions and take actions. For AI to operate reliably in enterprise environments, access alone is not enough—the underlying data must be understandable, governed, traceable and trustworthy.
BigObject’s recognition at the EU-Japan Hackathon provides an international validation of this approach and marks another step in Aralia’s development as a trusted data foundation for enterprise AI, cross-organization collaboration and international data ecosystems.
