Far East Communications to Showcase OM5 Multimode & Hollow-Core Fibre Portfolio Tailored for AIDC Deployments at Data Centre World Asia

Propelled by global surges in AI compute capacity and hyperscale data centre deployment, optical interconnect serves as the core transmission backbone for compute fabrics and enters a high-growth era. Leveraging decades of optical communications know-how, Far East Communications owns a full vertically integrated preform-fibre-cable industrial chain. We bring our full-spectrum core product portfolio to the Asia Data Centre & AI Tech exhibition cluster, demonstrating our proprietary R&D reserves and scalable manufacturing strengths in AIDC optical interconnects to APAC buyers. Together with industrial ecosystem partners, we co-develop high-bandwidth, resilient compute fabric infrastructure to support large-scale AI compute deployments.

Far East Communications Exhibition Official Introduction (Professional Industry Version)

Full Vertical Industrial Chain & Sustained Capacity Expansion

Established in 2018 with a registered capital of RMB 428 million, Far East Communications Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Far East Smarter Energy Co., Ltd. (FESC, Stock Code: 600869). The company’s vertically integrated optical preform-fibre-cable industrial base involves a total planned investment of RMB 1.84 billion.

The facility deploys the industry-premier RIC preform fabrication process, delivering superior production consistency, maximized raw material yield, high operational throughput and premium optical performance. Its fibre drawing towers are equipped with state-of-the-art low-attenuation technology, while end-to-end cable manufacturing lines cover the full spectrum of indoor and outdoor optical cable categories. Supported by centralized bulk material feeding systems, the entire production workflow forms a fully integrated intelligent manufacturing system with stable and standardized output.

In terms of mass production capacity, the company has achieved steady annual output of 300 tons of RIC preforms and 10 million fibre core-kilometers since 2024. By June 2026, the annual production capacity is projected to expand to 800 tons of optical preforms and 26 million fibre core-kilometers. In the long-term layout, the company will further scale up capacity to 2,000 tons of preforms and 60 million fibre core-kilometers, securing its position among global tier-one optical component suppliers and fully underpinning the booming market demand for AI compute infrastructure and hyperscale data centre construction.

Full-Spectrum Product Portfolio Optimized for Diverse AIDC Deployment Scenarios

At this exhibition, Far East Communications showcases four core product series that comprehensively cover full-scenario optical interconnection requirements for next-generation AIDC compute infrastructure:

1. Optical Preforms

Manufactured via mature RIC fabrication technology, optical preforms serve as the core upstream substrate for fibre drawing processes. Featuring exceptional performance stability and batch consistency, the preforms support large-scale, high-volume manufacturing of diversified high-performance fibre products, laying a solid foundation for reliable end-to-end optical link deployment.

2. High-Performance Optical Fibre Series

The product lineup encompasses bend-insensitive single-mode fibres (G.657 series), bend-optimized OM4/OM5 multimode fibres, hollow-core anti-resonant fibres (HCARF), polarization-maintaining (PM) fibres, and multi-core fibres. The full fibre matrix empowers three core AIDC interconnection scenarios: short-reach high-density in-rack cabling, high-bandwidth parallel inter-cluster transmission, and long-haul ultra-low-latency data links.

Notably, the hollow-core fibre series transmits optical signals through an air core instead of solid glass, reducing signal latency by 31% compared with traditional solid-core fibres. It achieves ultra-low attenuation of ≤0.05 dB/km across the C+L band and ≤0.10 dB/km in the O band, coupled with negligible nonlinear optical effects. These superior characteristics make it an optimal solution for 800G/1.6T ultra-high-speed optical interconnection in large-scale AI compute clusters.

3. Optical Cable Series

The company’s comprehensive cable portfolio covers full-spec outdoor and indoor optical cables. Outdoor product lines include aerial, duct, and direct-burial optical cables for diversified external deployment environments. Indoor offerings comprise structured cabling cables, fibre ribbon cables, micro air-blown cables, and flame-retardant & fire-resistant specialized cables. The product matrix also includes ADSS and other power-system dedicated optical cables, all certified by authoritative domestic and international standard institutions to ensure full compliance with global deployment specifications.

4. High-Density Optical Patch Cord Series

The MPO/MTP pre-terminated patch cord series features ultra-low insertion loss, high integration density, and stable, durable connection performance. Tailored for high-density structured cabling systems, it perfectly adapts to compact cabinet deployment and high-capacity interconnection requirements in hyperscale AIDC facilities.

Global Footprint & Ecosystem Win-Win Collaboration

Leveraging FESC’s global industrial layout and worldwide customer ecosystem, Far East Communications has established long-term strategic cooperation with top-tier global cloud service providers, hyperscale data centre operators, and mainstream communication equipment manufacturers.

Backed by the parent company’s national-level R&D platforms and systematic technical innovation system, the company adheres to rigorous quality control standards and continuous technological iteration. It delivers customized optical interconnection products and full-lifecycle technical support for global clients. Moving forward, Far East Communications will further deepen its layout in the AIDC optical interconnect track, accelerate capacity scaling and technological upgrading, and strive to build global-leading competitiveness in AIDC optical fibre products and turnkey solutions. The company aims to empower the high-quality, sustainable development of global next-generation compute infrastructure.
