KONST at Ai4: The Real Bottleneck in AI Compute Isn't Scarcity — It's Fragmentation
KONST Systems Architect David Wacker at Ai4, on the "Scaling Compute for the AI Enterprise" panel alongside speakers from Runpod, Solaris Venture Partners & Outpost Capital, Deutsche Bank, and Auvern.ai, discussing the real-world challenges of building and scaling enterprise AI infrastructure — from GPU data centers to cloud platforms.

Enterprise AI adoption doesn't fail for lack of GPUs — it fails because infrastructure, cloud, and models have never operated as one.

Over the past two years, the AI industry has raced to secure compute. Last week at Ai4 in Las Vegas, Taiwan-based AI infrastructure company KONST offered a different view: "The real bottleneck isn't how many GPUs you can get — it's how many vendors you have to integrate just to put them to use."

Today, a typical enterprise buys hardware from one vendor, rents cloud compute from another, and sources model services from a third. Every handoff between them adds cost and latency, and when something goes wrong, no one is fully accountable. KONST's answer is One KONST — a vertically integrated, end-to-end AI compute value chain: KONST builds and operates GPU data centers; cloud partner Glows.ai delivers compute through an enterprise-grade, pay-by-the-minute cloud platform; and sub-brand Horizon AI handles AI application deployment and model asset governance, turning compute into a governable service. Horizon AI recently launched the Token Platform, giving enterprises plug-and-play access to the world's leading models.

Two trends in 2026 are rapidly amplifying the cost of fragmentation. First, the rise of AI agent workflows means token consumption for a single task is multiplying — for the first time, "model usage" has become a cost line enterprises must manage financially, and without a single contract and unified reporting, usage and budget cannot be governed. Second, leading models are reshuffled every quarter, increasing the risk of locking into a single model provider; "plug in a new model with zero integration cost" has shifted from a nice-to-have to a procurement requirement. Both trends point to the same conclusion: AI infrastructure must operate as one integrated system.

Addressing the multi-vendor integration challenges enterprises commonly face in AI adoption, KONST COO Winnie Lee said: "The compute industry is shifting from a race for resources to a race for integration. At the core of One KONST, we take three journeys that used to sit separately with hardware vendors, cloud providers, and model providers, and turn them into one partner, one contract, one team — from building out the data center floor to every token an application consumes. That's what enterprise-grade AI infrastructure should look like."

This model has been validated in the field. As a Neo Cloud compute provider, KONST has delivered close to 4,000 GPUs, served 10+ major enterprise clients, and operates across Taiwan, Japan, and Singapore — including a liquid-cooled B200 container deployment in Fukushima — with a site network spanning 9 countries. From deployment to long-term operations, KONST delivers the entire journey through a single team.

KONST at Ai4

KONST exhibited at Booth 403 at Ai4 in Las Vegas, August 4–6. On August 6, Systems Architect David Wacker joined the "Scaling Compute for the AI Enterprise" panel alongside speakers from Solaris Venture Partners, Runpod, Deutsche Bank, and Auvern.ai. Throughout the conference, the KONST team was on-site at the booth to discuss data center deployment, GPU cloud, and enterprise AI adoption.
