Munters Celebrates One-Year Anniversary of Geoclima Acquisition, Showcasing Expanded Portfolio and Market Reach
At DCW Singapore 2025, Munters DCT reflects on one year since the acquisition of the Geoclima Group. This strategic move has enhanced Munters’ offering to the data center industry, enabling the company to meet growing demand for innovative, energy-efficient, and scalable cooling solutions. This press release highlights the three main achievements since the acquisition: an expanded product portfolio, increased production capacity, and an expanded market presence.
On October 3, 2025, Munters Data Center Technologies (DCT), part of the Munters AB Group, celebrates one year since welcoming Geoclima into the Munters family. In just twelve months, the combination of Geoclima’s cutting-edge chiller technologies and Munters’ expertise in energy-efficient air treatment has fueled a remarkable transformation. Today, Munters DCT has reinforced its position in the global data center cooling market, with a broader portfolio, higher production capacity, and a growing presence in the global data center cooling market.
Expanded Product Portfolio
Before the acquisition, Munters DCT already offered a wide range of data center cooling solutions, including SyCool waterless split systems, liquid-to-refrigerant Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), direct and indirect evaporative and dry cooling systems, fan array units, Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRACs), and stand-alone humidifiers/coolers.
Since last year, Munters has added three key innovations:
- Geoclima Air- and Water-Cooled Chillers – featuring both screw compressors and Turbocor oil-free compressors. Among them, the CirclemiserTM technology stands out: an AHRI-certified, ultra-efficient chiller with Turbocor compressors and cylindrical microchannel condensers. Circlemiser delivers higher energy efficiency with a smaller footprint, thanks to its larger heat exchange surface.
- Geoclima Dry Air Coolers – high-efficiency units that can be equipped with IntellibaticTM, an innovative adiabatic system with smart control and tilting pads. This dynamic solution, invented by Geoclima, enhances free cooling potential, significantly boosting overall efficiency.
- Munters LCX CDU (liquid-to-liquid) – complementing the existing liquid-to-refrigerant CDU. As demand for liquid cooling in high-density data centers rises, the LCX CDU provides a scalable, reliable, and cost-effective solution. The units are also stackable, ideal for limited spaces, and can be connected directly to chillers.
Additionally, Munters has reinforced its collaboration with ZutaCore, a leader in direct-to-chip cooling. Together, the companies are integrating Munters SyCool systems with ZutaCore’s advanced two-phase liquid cooling technology.
With these additions, Munters DCT now offers solutions that are scalable, reliable, energy-efficient, and highly customizable to meet the diverse needs of the modern data centers.
Increased Production Capacity
To meet growing demand, Munters DCT is expanding its Daleville, Virginia facility, which will increase chiller production capacity for the US market and include a fully functional climate test chamber for chillers. Together with the company’s Texas facility, this expansion will provide nearly 700,000 square feet (65,000 m²) of space dedicated to the development and production of innovative, energy-efficient data center cooling systems.
In addition, Munters has recently opened a state-of-the-art 120,000 square-foot (11,148 m²) facility in Cork, Ireland, dedicated to manufacturing its complete portfolio of data center cooling solutions, from CRAHs and CRACs to evaporative cooling units and the SyCool Split system. Fully operational since last year, the Cork site plays a central role in supporting the fast-growing European data center market. This capacity is further strengthened by Geoclima’s multiple manufacturing plants in Italy and its factory in Thailand, ensuring global coverage and resilience in the supply chain.
Enhanced Market Presence
Since the acquisition, Munters DCT has seen a sharp increase in customer orders, including new large-scale data center operators. The company has significantly expanded its presence in the data center cooling industry, especially in the Europe and APAC —through Geoclima factories and sales offices.
This broader market reach, combined with an expanded portfolio and production base, positions Munters DCT as a key partner for the future of data center cooling.
One year after the acquisition of Geoclima, Munters DCT has delivered on its promise: an expanded product offering, stronger production capabilities, and a broader market presence. As demand for scalable, sustainable, and high-performance cooling solutions grows worldwide, Munters DCT is ready to support the data center industry in meeting its future challenges.
