HUBA Type 520 & 692 Pressure Transmitters for Data Centre Cooling Systems
As data centres continue to increase rack densities and cooling loads, precise monitoring of chilled water systems has become essential to ensure maximum uptime, energy efficiency, and compliance with modern sustainability standards such as Singapore SS591:2021 Green Mark. The HUBA Type 520 Pressure Transmitter and HUBA Type 692 Differential Pressure Transmitter provide continuous, real-time monitoring of pressure and differential pressure throughout the cooling network, enabling facility operators to optimise system performance while reducing operating costs. HUBA specifically identifies these sensors for data centre cooling applications such as CDUs, in-rack CDUs, CRAC systems, chilled water circuits, and filtration monitoring.
HUBA Type 520 – System Pressure Monitoring
The HUBA Type 520 measures the operating pressure of chilled water pumps, supply headers, return lines, and cooling distribution systems. By providing stable and highly reliable pressure measurements, it allows Building Management Systems (BMS) or Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms to detect abnormal pressure conditions before they develop into costly failures.
Continuous pressure monitoring helps operators to:
- Maintain optimum chilled water pump performance
- Detect pump wear, cavitation and water leakage early
- Prevent unexpected cooling interruptions
- Support predictive maintenance strategies
- Reduce unnecessary pump energy consumption
- Improve overall cooling system reliability
Built with a fully welded stainless-steel sensing element and advanced thick-film technology, the HUBA 520 delivers excellent long-term stability, fast response, and exceptional durability for demanding HVAC and chilled water applications.
HUBA Type 692 – Differential Pressure Monitoring
The HUBA Type 692 measures the pressure difference across critical cooling components such as AHU cooling coils, heat exchangers, strainers, filters, and pump systems. Differential pressure is one of the most important indicators of system health, allowing operators to identify clogged filters, fouled heat exchangers, insufficient flow, or pump degradation before cooling performance is affected.
Benefits include:
- Verify proper chilled water flow through cooling coils
- Detect blocked filters and fouled heat exchangers
- Optimise variable speed pump control
- Improve heat transfer efficiency
- Reduce pumping energy
- Minimise equipment downtime
- Extend the lifespan of cooling assets
Its proven ceramic sensing technology provides outstanding accuracy, minimal temperature drift, and long-term measurement stability, making it ideal for continuous monitoring in mission-critical cooling systems.
Supporting SS591:2021 Green Mark Compliance
When integrated with high-accuracy temperature sensors, magnetic flow meters, BTU energy meters, and BMS/DCIM systems, the HUBA Type 520 and Type 692 become essential components of a comprehensive Measurement & Verification (M&V) solution. Accurate pressure and differential pressure data enable facility managers to verify chilled water system performance, optimise pump efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and demonstrate compliance with SS591:2021 Green Mark requirements for energy-efficient data centres.
Together, the HUBA 520 and HUBA 692 help data centre operators achieve higher cooling efficiency, lower operating costs, increased equipment reliability, and uninterrupted operation—supporting the performance demands of today's high-density, mission-critical facilities.
