Perkins 5000s comprehensive validation and durability testing, encompassing operation across extreme
temperature ranges and real world operating cycles, has proven that the 5000 Series maintains reliable performance under the most demanding environmental conditions.
To provide proven prime and backup power to critical applications like hospitals, data centres and remote worksites, we had to rethink the way we design our electric power engines.
So, we ensured that the design of the product was created with the end customer in mind. This means the engines were designed with simplified usability and servicing.
Redesigned core engine components mean the 5000 Series delivers more power, more quickly. We know step load/acceptance is an extremely important factor for our customers. This engine range meets G3 requirements.

The 5000 Series is engineered specifically for the
power generation industry to supply critical applications with dependable prime or standby power, where reliability is critical.
The most powerful and largest fully electronic, electric power range from Perkins, the 5000 Series has been designed to optimise customers’ needs for quick, reliable and cost-effective power, while delivering reliability, high performance and peace of mind.
Built to world-class standards for high efficiency, low fuel consumption and global emission standards, the engine range has been optimised and tested to deliver cost-effective, reliable performance and lower total cost of ownership.
So far over 200,000 hours of real-life testing hours
have been achieved, alongside over 20,000 hours of durability testing, as part of the full generator set and base engine development.
The 5000 Series uses a unique low-pressure fuel system developed specifically for the range so it is more tolerant of variations in fuel quality and can run with biodiesel up to B35 based on a 35 percent dilution of biodiesel with standard diesel or on 100 percent hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). To preserve the performance and integrity of the engine whilst reducing the risk of downtime or failure, fuels must meet the specifications and characteristics described in official Perkins fluids guideline documents found on www.perkins.com.
No matter when and where it’s needed, the 5000 Series delivers robust, on-demand power, so daily life doesn’t miss a beat.
