David is a seasoned technology executive with significant experience and has over 25 years’ experience in CIO and CISO roles across different industries and countries. David has served as a CIO across multiple industries and geographies including – Metlife, Eli Lilly and Credit Union Australia. He was winner Australia CIO of the Year for driving CUA’s Transformation. Also, David was CISO for HSBC and Global Head Technology, Cyber and Data/AI Risk Macquarie Group. He now serves as Non-Executive Director at Sapien Ventures and as a Member of the UNSW Technology Council. David is also Board Advisor at Bain Advisory and Ambassador CI–ISAC Australia Critical Infrastructure. David also serves as Advisory Director to JS Careers, Fleak AI and Rethink Australia. As past Chairman for the FS-ISAC Strategy Committee he was awarded Global Leaders Award in 2023 for his industry contributions. A regular conference keynote speaker and thought leader he writes for CIO, CSO, Computerworld and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). David has written multiple best-selling books - the Aspiring CIO & CISO, A Day in the Life of a CISO and How to Sell to the CIO & CISO. Recently started as an Adjunct Lecturer on Cybersecurity and Risk Management for the SMU–Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) program.
