An international awards-winning leader in business and in tech, Genie has had an illustrious career as an entrepreneur, subsequently in government, diplomacy, law, and more recently in tech, and in business.
Genie started her journeys in public accounting and law in Big Four firms. Since a young age, she was an award-winning entrepreneur with a series of successful start-ups and brick-and-mortar businesses, before spending a significant length of time as a senior official in Government, having assumed several key portfolios.
Having established herself as an influential figure in the industry, Genie frequently speaks on international platforms (at the levels of UN, G20, ASEAN, Africa Union, Boao Forum, etc) and to international media (TV, radio, print) and is a sought-after keynote speaker and thought leader.
She is currently a C-suite business strategy leader with a global remit spanning across 94 countries. She also serves on multiple international councils, national committees and advisory boards, such as the Global Council for Responsible AI (as Governor), Coordinating Committee for Smart Nation & Cybersecurity (Singapore Standards Council), Advisory Board of the Cybersecurity Association of India, Executive Committee Member (Cybersecurity) in SGTech, Vice Chair of the International Women Empowerment Forum, Country Chair for G100 (Group of 100 Global Women Leaders) Humanity, Technology & Innovation Wing.
She provides counsel and leadership on business and policy strategies for countries and for enterprises in the context of a geopolitically driven world, and on topics at the intersection of business, law, technology and public policy. She has truly global perspectives given her network of trusted relations with governments and institutional stakeholders from around the world and an international upbringing.
Genie is an accredited Senior Independent Board Director who sits on boards of large organisations. She comes with an excellent academic track record from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, INSEAD and National University of Singapore, holding a Juris Doctor in law, an honors degree in Accountancy, and specialist training in Counselling Psychology.
