Professor Poh Seng (PS) Lee is Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Executive Director of the Energy Studies Institute at the National University of Singapore (NUS). A globally recognized expert in sustainable data centre cooling and advanced thermal management, he leads pioneering work in direct-to-chip and two-phase liquid cooling, AI-augmented thermal control, and passive cooling for tropical buildings.
Prof Lee is founder of CoolestDC, a deep-tech spin-off advancing high-performance liquid cooling, and serves as Co-Director of the Singapore Energy Centre and NUS Sustainable Futures. He also leads the Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed, positioning Singapore as a regional leader in green digital infrastructure.
An ASME Fellow with over 200 publications, he contributes actively to national decarbonisation efforts and policy development across AI infrastructure, hydrogen, and industrial energy transitions. His work bridges thermal sciences, sustainability, and systems innovation to reshape how we cool, compute, and decarbonize.
