Roy Samuels is a seasoned mission-critical infrastructure expert, serving as APAC Director – Technical & Relia-bility at CBRE Data Centre Solutions, where he leads technical strategy and operational excellence for data centre facilities across the Asia-Pacific region. With deep experience in reliability engineering, facility performance and sustainability, Roy guides multidisci-plinary teams to optimise data centre operations while balancing performance, energy efficiency and sustain-ability/ESG goals. He regularly shares insights on navigating the challenges of AI-driven demand, sustainable design-to-operations alignment, and water- and energy-efficient infrastructure in complex digital environments. He is the SME on Liquid Cooling technology with a focus on operations and uptime. As a recognised industry voice, Roy speaks at regional conventions including the SIJORI Cloud & Datacenter Convention and contributes to discussions around operational strategy, resilient infrastructure practices and carbon management. Passionate about operational reliability and sustainable digital infrastructure, he combines technical leader-ship with practical experience to support clients in delivering future-ready, high-performance facilities that meet evolving market needs. In his previous roles before joining CBRE, Roy has been in the Consulting industry in the Built Environment for over 40 years. He has extensive experience leading M&E engineering companies in various sectors and has worked for internally recognised like Connell Wagner (now Aurecon), Hyder Consulting (now Arcadis), Arup and Meinhardt. Roy holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree, a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), is an Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) and Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCMP). He resides in Singapore and is an Australian citizen from Melbourne.
