In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, the demand for cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions has never been greater. At the heart of these innovations lies an often-overlooked yet crucial component: power. As a leader in the semiconductor industry, we are at the forefront of powering AI from grid to core with our state-of-the-art power semiconductor solutions, encompassing Silicon (Si), Gallium Nitride (GaN), and Silicon Carbide (SiC) technologies. Our comprehensive "grid to core" approach ensures that every stage of the power conversion process is optimized to meet the stringent demands of AI data centers.
The recent trend to ever more powerful GPUs and their clustering into large networks drives power levels for AI racks to 1 MW and beyond. These very high power levels necessitate changes in the entire power conversion flow and will establish HV DC distribution as the new norm. Consequently, generation and distribution of power and the down stream conversion towards the Processor Core will change significantly.
In this presentation we will dive into different parts of the power conversion chain within today’s AI datacenters such as Power Supply Units or Voltage Regulator Modules and will look at trends for AI data centers on an architectural level.
